Yogendra Yadav was an IDIA scholar at National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi (NUSRL). He comes from the Naxalite prone village of Pitij in Chhatra district of Jharkhand. His schooling was in Hindi medium and to support his family, he hawked newspapers around Ranchi from a very early age. He came across IDIA and CLAT while distributing one of his newspapers. He has seen incidents of lawlessness in his village and few of his near ones could not be represented by a lawyer due to lack of funds.
This aroused interest in the legal field for him at an early age. He contacted IDIA Jharkhand Chapter through the newspaper clipping he read, and topped the State INAT exam. This was followed by his wonderful performance in CLAT that landed him in one of the National Law Universities. His father is a labourer in Alang, Gujarat and his mother is a housewife. He graduated in the year 2017 and is currently a litigating lawyer in the Jharkhand High Court.
