Rinju Kumari

Rinju Kumari hails from Beheating Tea Estate, Dibrugarh, Assam. Her father is a teacher in a primary school of Beheating Tea Estate, and her mother is a social worker. When Rinju joined us as a trainee, her father’s monthly income of INR 9000 was the only source of family income which was hardly enough to fuel her dreams of pursuing higher education.

Rinju has put up with great hardships to pursue her higher secondary studies and has had to travel 30 kms everyday just to attend school. Rinju Kumari is a determined and hardworking girl. Rinju got in touch with IDIA when our North East team conducted a sensitisation session at Salt Brook School, Dibrugarh, Assam and selected her through INAT.

She cleared the Calcutta University Law entrance exam in 2013 and secured admission at South Calcutta Law College, Kolkata. She performed extremely well in college and was the university topper in 2014! Presently, Rinju is working as a judicial clerk in the High Court at Calcutta with the Hon’ble Justice Shivakant Prasad. We firmly believe that Rinju has a very bright future ahead of her.
