Trilok Chand is from Barmer, Rajasthan, and he moved to Jodhpur to study at Holy Spirit Senior Secondary School, Jodhpur, in 2015. His father is a cobbler by profession and he faces tremendous economic pressure.
Trilok’s cheerful determination in the face of these pressures is admirable. Coincidentally, both of Trilok’s elder brothers are associated with IDIA at top-tier NLUs- the eldest as a volunteer, and the other as an IDIA Scholar. Trilok idolises his brothers and hopes to one day establish a law firm with them.
The IDIA Delhi Chapter, whose volunteers trained Trilok to write the CLAT, describes him as reserved and composed. Trilok’s focus on his aspirations and the hard work he put in towards achieving them stood out to them. His diligence led to him performing really well in CLAT 2016, securing an all India category rank of 259, and gaining admission in National Law University, Odisha.
Trilok co-founded an initiative to support the education of underprivileged school children in Cuttack, Odisha- an initiative very appropriately named “Project Prabhaat”. Apart from being an active member of the IDIA Odisha Chapter, Trilok was also a member of the university’s Ambedkar Study Circle. He and his friends in the Ambedkar Study Circle organized the 2nd Annual Ambedkar Memorial Lecture on 14th April 2019, the occasion of Dr. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. He has interned with Centre for Child Rights (CCR), National Law University Odisha; Centre for Child and Law, National Law School of India University, Bangalore, and Advocate Vijay Singh Rajpurohit, Balotra.
