Mayank comes from Ushraha, a village in the district of Khagaria in Bihar. He is currently in his final semester of his law school at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. He recently has secured placement with Nishith Desai Associates in their Investment Funds team, which he will be joining in September 2026.
He is a hardworking, goal oriented and focused individual. He has proved that even after coming from the hardship, be it financial or social, one’s perseverance and dedication can lead them to what they have dreamt of. He says that he did not do well in his matriculation and intermediate grades however, he worked hard to clear the CLAT examination and secured a spot in NALSAR. He did not stop even after joining NALSAR, he continued his hard work and excelled both in academics and co-curricular activities. Mayank has consistently been in the top 15% of his batch since the start of his law school journey. Along with maintaining his academic performance, he has also participated in various international moot court competitions and even went to Madrid (Spain) for one of the competitions.
After reading different laws in the law school, he believes that law is a very beautiful subject and each and every law is unique in themselves. Keeping up with that spirit, he engaged with various laws in the last four and half years of his law school. He has been research assistants in various moot court competitions for the competition law; he has participated in cross-border insolvency law moot court competitions; he has also participated in the sports arbitration moot court competitions; he was research assistant to Adv. Akash Baglekar for the second edition of his book on Consumer Protection Act which was published by the Eastern Book Company in 2023.
Mayank has been involved in leadership roles as well during the last four and half years of his law school. He has been IDIA Hyderabad Chapter’s deputy team leader for one year and then team leader for the last two years and finally as an advisor to the team. He has also been Vice-President and Acting President of the NALSAR Student Bar Council (AY 2024-25). He has been an associate editor of the NALSAR-IAMC ADR Journal and senior editor of The Legal Journal on Law and Technology (TLJT).
Mayank says that, may be law was not his first choice, but coming to a law school and interacting, learning and socializing there made him a person which he wanted to be. He says that the law school journey has helped him in understanding his inner potential and how he wanted to shape himself. Mayank’s friends says that he always thanks NALSAR and more importantly, IDIA for the support. He says that, without IDIA’s support, he may not have been as a person, as a student what he is today and he is forever thankful to IDIA and NALSAR. Apart from his studies, Mayank also has considerable interest in writing Hindi and Urdu shayaris. At law school he participated in various cultural events where his shayaris has received applause.
