Pranay Nanda

Pranay hails from Narsingarh, a village near Steel City, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. In 2011, after an accident involving his parents, he moved in with his uncle and aunt, who became his guardians. His uncle worked as a priest in their village. Pranay scored 76% in his 10th standard and 54.8% in his 12th standard.

In 2018, he enrolled in the Bachelor of English program at Ghatsila College, Kolhan University. To support his tuition fees, he worked part-time with an advocate, which sparked his interest in law. Determined to become a lawyer, he discovered IDIA through a YouTube video and reached out via email. Training under the Jharkhand Chapter, he successfully cleared MH CET, securing a seat at ILS Pune for the 3-year LL.B. program.

Pranay aspires to be a lawyer making a positive impact in rural areas, where legal awareness is often lacking. He seeks to explore various legal fields through internships and has worked with the Dispute Resolution Team of Tata Steel, Jamshedpur, gaining insights into steel industry, mining, and labor law litigation.He was a semi-finalist in the 1st Appellate Moot Court Competition at ILS and his team secured 4th place in the Bail & Remand Application Argument Competition in February 2025.

Outside academics, Pranay enjoys playing chess, gardening, and volunteering with GreenCaps, an NGO that raises environmental awareness in villages. After completing his law degree, he intends to pursue a career in Corporate Law.
