Monisha Netam, an IDIA Scholar from Chhattisgarh, is currently pursuing her legal education at Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur. Growing up in a state known for its rich culture and traditions, Monisha did not always envision a career in law. It was during her higher secondary education that she discovered her interest in the field and decided to pursue it with determination.
For Monisha, law is much more than a profession. She believes that legal knowledge empowers people to understand their rights, challenge injustice, and bring meaningful change to society. This belief inspired her dream of becoming a lawyer and using the law as a tool for social impact.
However, the cost of pursuing legal education at a National Law University often made that dream seem out of reach. Coming from a family with limited financial resources, Monisha was aware of the challenges ahead. Despite these difficulties, she remained committed to her goal and continued preparing for CLAT with dedication and hope.
A turning point in her journey came when IDIA conducted a Law for All Program at her school. Learning about IDIA and its mission gave her the confidence to believe that her dream was achievable. Through IDIA’s support and guidance, she received access to CLAT coaching and mentorship, which strengthened her preparation and helped her secure admission to HNLU Raipur.
Beyond academics, Monisha enjoys exploring legal concepts and expanding her understanding of the language of law. She is also passionate about reading non-fiction books, Hindi literature, and poetry. Writing serves as a creative outlet through which she expresses her thoughts and ideas.
Monisha’s motivation stems from her desire to help people who are unaware of their rights and often face injustice due to a lack of legal awareness. She hopes to use her legal education to bridge this gap and become a voice for those who struggle to access justice. Grateful for the opportunities IDIA has provided, she aspires to support and inspire other students from similar backgrounds to pursue their dreams and create meaningful change through law.
