Hailing from Chembur, Shagufta is one of five siblings in her family. Her father who was a salesman lost his job due to the pandemic and her mother is a homemaker, so her family solely depends on rental income for their survival. She secured 73.34% in her HSC boards despite all the adversities. She actively participates in debating.
Her dedication towards becoming a supporting pillar for her family is unparalleled. She became a part of IDIA as a Trainee when she was in her first year of Junior College (FYJC), and since then she has been preparing for the law entrance exams under the guidance of the IDIA Mumbai Chapter. As her CLAT 2020 score did not satisfy her, she jumped into preparation once again and has been studying diligently to get into one of the top NLUs.
Shagufta aspires to contribute to building society by going into civil services, and becoming a role model for her people and an inspiration to her siblings. She believes that a law degree coupled with her interests and willingness to pay back to society will help her attain her goal.
