Susmit Isfaq is from Guwahati, Assam. The only child to his parents, Isfaq lost his mother around eight years ago, and is supported solely by his father who is a party worker for the Communist Party of India. His family survives on his father’s party allowance and mother’s pension, pegging the monthly income at INR. 10,000.
Despite growing up in precarious circumstances, Isfaq’s resolve to succeed has never been dampened. Isfaq was introduced to IDIA by a student of National Law University, Assam, while promoting the ‘Diversity at Home’ project of IDIA. Hardworking and gifted with an extremely bright mind, he trained with IDIA for CLAT 2016, and secured admission at National Law University, Assam.
Isfaq intends to work hard in pursuing a career in law. He aspires to become a ‘politician with a heart’ and work for marginalised communities in North East India.
