Aqib is a down to earth and cheerful IDIA Scholar, who works with great determination and diligence. Aqib’s father works with a courier company, and his mother doesn’t work as she is suffering from a terminal illness. His father’s monthly income was INR 14,500 with which he supported his four kids, and paid for his wife’s medical expenses. Being the eldest, Aqib was under a lot of pressure to start earning money immediately after school, but Aqib was determined to be a lawyer.
Aqib was introduced to IDIA when a sensitization session was conducted by IDIA Delhi Chapter at National Law University, Delhi (NLUD). He was trained by the students of IDIA Delhi Chapter for a year. He was also trained by IDIA’s affiliate partners, IMS and LST.
Aqib was the Head Boy of his school and he enjoys playing cricket. He juggled many responsibilities to make it to University School of Law and Legal Studies (main campus), Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.
Aqib is highly active in all spheres in law school. He has been participating in intra-university moot court competitions, various seminars, and has also been writing research papers. He also regularly takes part in debates. In June 2019, Aqib interned at Sankhla & Associates (a law firm in New Delhi) and during the course of that internship, he developed an interest in the law of Intellectual Property. Following this, Aqib would like to intern with firms who deal with the law of intellectual property, corporate law and commercial law. He has also interned with Centre for Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition, NLU, Delhi.
In his free time, Aqib likes reading novels and playing basketball and cricket.
