Stanzin Nedon

Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar

Stanzin is from the Hanu village in Ladakh. Her parents have supported her education and dreams since she was a child. They faced immense hardships in arranging money for her education. They had to cut down their expenditure on various basic amenities such as cooking oil. They aspired for her to pursue higher education outside Ladakh due to the lack of good education infrastructure in the region.

She is a bright, hard-working, passionate, and energetic young woman. Her parents enrolled her at the Mount Carmel School at Anand Niketan, Delhi to give her the best possible shot at a good career. However, the pandemic swept the world, and she faced many difficulties in learning through online classes.

When she was in the 10th standard, she had been part of a session on POSCO that was conducted at her school by some lawyers. This was her first exposure to the importance of law. When she shifted to the humanities stream and had legal studies as one of the subjects, it fostered her interest in law. She topped her class in the board examinations and scored 99% in the legal studies subject!

After her results, Stanzin prepared for CLAT and other law entrance exams along with studying for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). She scored 98% in the latter and secured admission in the Political Science course at the reputed Hindu College at Delhi University. She started her B.A. course at the Hindu College while continuing to pursue her passion for studying law.

Stanzin came to know about IDIA through her school teacher and she is really glad that she became a part of the IDIA family. During her preparation, she found herself struggling to keep up with the law entrance preparations along with her academic commitments at college. She felt exhausted, demotivated, and stressed. Mock tests would often make her anxious and cause her to skip certain sections. She was training with IDIA Punjab Chapter, and they motivated her to persevere and to keep getting better every day.

In law school, she wants to explore opportunities that will help her in building her confidence and shaping her skills. We are proud of Stanzin and the long way that she has come with hard work and determination.
