Stanzin Nedon, hailing from the remote Hanu village in Ladakh, is a bright and determined young woman who has overcome significant challenges in pursuit of her education. Her parents, despite financial hardships, prioritized her studies, even cutting down on basic necessities to ensure she received the best possible opportunities. Recognizing the limitations of educational infrastructure in Ladakh, they enrolled her at Mount Carmel School in Delhi. However, the pandemic disrupted her learning, making online education a struggle.
Her interest in law was sparked in the 10th standard when she attended a session on the POCSO Act conducted by lawyers at her school. This initial exposure to legal advocacy led her to choose the humanities stream with legal studies as a subject, in which she excelled, scoring 99% in her board exams.
Following her outstanding results, Stanzin began preparing for CLAT and other law entrance exams while also studying for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), where she achieved an impressive 98%. She secured admission to the prestigious Hindu College, Delhi University, for a Political Science degree but remained committed to her dream of studying law.
Her journey with IDIA began through a recommendation from her school teacher. Training under the IDIA Punjab Chapter, she faced the challenge of balancing law entrance preparation with her undergraduate studies. At times, the pressure was overwhelming, leading to exhaustion and anxiety, especially during mock tests. However, with the unwavering support of her mentors and peers, she persevered and improved steadily.
Now in law school, Stanzin is eager to explore opportunities that will build her confidence and refine her skills. Her dedication extends beyond academics—she has gained hands-on experience through internships with Senior Advocate CM Koul, Hon’ble Judge Yash Paul Sharma’s Court, and the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Leh. Through these roles, she has contributed to legal research, case preparation, and public awareness campaigns.
With a passion for legal advocacy, research, and community engagement, Stanzin excels in public speaking, content creation, and awareness programs, using her voice and skills to address pressing social issues. From a small village in Ladakh to the halls of a prestigious law school, her journey is a testament to resilience, determination, and the transformative power of education.
