Asha M

Asha M, an ambitious and resilient student from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, discovered her passion for law during a school career guidance session. Curious and determined, she researched CLAT and NLUs, but the financial burden seemed overwhelming. Refusing to give up, she sought scholarships and found IDIA, which recognized her potential and supported her journey.

Her father works as a taxi driver and her mother as a tailor, while her siblings and parents have been her constant support. Asha studied at Govt. HSS for Girls, Cottonhill, excelling with 8 A+ and 2 A grades in SSLC and 96% in Class 12 Humanities. She was an active all-rounder, winning the Eco-achiever’s quiz, securing the USS Scholarship, and earning the Sanskrit Scholarship.

A highlight of her school years was reaching the finals of a state-level legal awareness quiz by KELSA, where a visit to the Kerala High Court strengthened her dream of becoming a lawyer.

As an NCC cadet, she held leadership roles, attended national camps, and participated in the Republic Day Parade selections. These experiences instilled discipline and resilience, qualities that helped her face CLAT challenges. Traveling for coaching, handling stress, and overcoming self-doubt were not easy, but mentorship from IDIA volunteers kept her motivated. Eventually, she cleared CLAT in her first attempt and secured admission at NUALS Kochi.

Beyond academics, Asha enjoys reading, writing, quizzing, and singing. A Harry Potter enthusiast with an interest in astrology, she dreams of elping children from marginalized backgrounds access quality education. For her, IDIA has been the force that turned aspiration into achievement, and she now hopes to inspire others to chase their dreams with the same dedication and belief.
