Yogesh Dhakad hails from Raisen, Madhya Pradesh, and is currently a first-year student at the Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU), Tiruchirappalli. He comes from a lower-middle-class family of four, where his father runs a small grocery shop and his mother works as a Grade III employee in the District Court of Raisen. Growing up in a family that valued education and hard work, Yogesh developed a strong commitment to academics from an early age.
His educational journey took a significant turn when he cleared the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) in Grade 5 and secured admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. The opportunity to receive quality residential education under the CBSE curriculum helped shape his academic foundation and broaden his aspirations. During his school years, he actively participated in cultural activities and competitions and served as House Captain, experiences that strengthened his leadership and teamwork skills.
Yogesh decided to pursue law in Class 11 and began preparing for CLAT using freely available online resources. A year later, he attended a Law for All Program conducted by IDIA at his school, where he first learned about the organization. Preparing for CLAT with limited resources was challenging, but IDIA provided mentorship, study materials, mock tests, and continuous guidance that transformed his preparation journey. The encouragement and confidence he received from his mentors helped him believe that admission to a National Law University was within reach.
With consistent hard work and IDIA’s support, Yogesh appeared for CLAT 2026 and secured admission to Tamil Nadu National Law University through the counselling process. Today, he is focused on making the most of the opportunities law school offers.
Yogesh has a keen interest in technology law and artificial intelligence, particularly in exploring how emerging technologies can improve access to justice and strengthen legal systems. He aspires to build a meaningful career in law and remains committed to working hard toward his goals while contributing positively to society.
