Ritika is a determined and resilient young woman from Kelwara Tehsil Kumbhalgarh, located in the Rajsamand district of Rajasthan. Born into a middle class family, Ritika’s early life was marked by hardship when her father, the sole earner, fell seriously ill. Despite the challenges, Ritika remained steadfast in her vision of a better and more just world.
Witnessing discrimination, corruption, and injustice around her, Ritika was inspired to pursue law as a powerful tool for change. Her journey, however, was not an easy one. Financial constraints threatened to derail her dreams, but with the entry of IDIA into her life, hope was rekindled. The support provided by IDIA empowered both Ritika and her brother to continue their legal education and pursue their goals with renewed confidence.
Ritika finds motivation in the leadership of Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud, whose commitment to constitutional values inspires her to work toward a fairer society. Her academic dedication is unwavering, and she is determined to use her legal education to fight against injustice and uplift marginalized communities.
She is currently in her third year of law school and has already begun to gain practical legal experience. In May and June 2024, she interned with People’s Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) in Jaipur. In October 2024, she interned under Advocate Pradeep Shah at the Rajasthan High Court, In May 2025 she interned under AOR Abhinav Rao and in June 2025 she did an internship at Karanjawala & Co. Advocates in Delhi further sharpening her legal skills.
Outside her academic pursuits, Ritika is a multifaceted individual. She is a passionate chess player and an avid reader. These hobbies not only provide her with joy but also strengthen her strategic thinking and broaden her understanding of the world. She also practices meditation regularly, which helps her stay focused and grounded through life’s ups and downs.
Ritika’s story is one of grit, compassion, and vision. With the support of her family, the encouragement of her mother, and the guidance of IDIA, she is forging a path to become a change maker in the legal field. Her journey stands as a powerful reminder that with resilience and the right support, even the most formidable obstacles can be overcome and a better future can be created for all.
