Christina Varghese

Christina Varghese is a first-generation lawyer from Alappuzha, Kerala. She completed her B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Bharata Mata School of Legal Studies, Ernakulam, and later pursued her LL.M. in Criminal Law, Criminology and Penology at Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram.

After completing her LL.M., Christina began her legal career as a Junior Associate, where she handles matters relating to company law, civil litigation, banking law, property law, and intellectual property. The practical exposure she has gained through litigation and legal drafting has strengthened her passion for the legal profession and reinforced her commitment to providing effective legal assistance.

Christina comes from a close-knit family comprising her father, mother, brother, and sister-in-law. Their constant encouragement and unwavering support have played a significant role in shaping her academic and professional journey.

Having recently been selected as an IDIA Litigation Fellow, Christina views the fellowship as a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced litigators while contributing to IDIA’s mission of expanding access to quality legal representation for marginalized communities. She hopes to sharpen her advocacy, research, and litigation skills through the fellowship and develop into a socially conscious legal professional.

In the long run, Christina aspires to establish herself as an accomplished litigator.
