Nidhi Malawaliya is a first-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) student at Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur. Originally from Rajasthan and currently residing in Delhi, she comes from a single-parent family where her mother is the sole earning member. Along with her two siblings, Nidhi grew up witnessing her mother’s strength, determination, and sacrifices, which became a constant source of inspiration in her own journey.
Nidhi chose to pursue law because of her strong belief in its ability to create meaningful change. For her, law is not just a profession but a powerful tool to challenge injustice, empower communities, and contribute to a more equitable society. This belief motivated her to work diligently toward securing admission to a National Law University.
Her preparation journey was filled with learning and self-discovery. Along the way, she realized the importance of consistency, resilience, maintaining good mental health, and focusing on the present rather than worrying about uncertainties. These lessons not only helped her prepare for competitive examinations but also shaped her outlook on life.
A significant part of her journey was made possible through the support of IDIA (Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access to Legal Education). Through financial assistance, mentorship, academic guidance, and mental health support, IDIA provided her with the resources and confidence needed to pursue her dream of studying law. The organization’s faith in her potential encouraged her to believe in herself and keep moving forward.
As she begins her legal education at HNLU, Nidhi aspires to grow into a skilled legal professional and a socially conscious individual. She hopes to use her legal education to better understand society, think critically about complex issues, and contribute meaningfully to creating positive change through the law. Her journey reflects determination, resilience, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
