Ushas Adithya K.S. is an advocate enrolled with the Bar Council of Kerala with over one year and seven months of litigation experience. She practices before various courts, tribunals, and quasi-judicial authorities in and around Wayanad. A native of Mananthavady, she completed her schooling at GVHSS, Mananthavady, and subsequently earned her B.B.A., LL.B. from Vidya Vikas Educational Trust, Mysuru, affiliated with Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi.
Following her graduation, Ushas commenced her legal practice under the guidance of Adv. Shyju Manisseril, where she gained practical experience in litigation and courtroom advocacy. As a first-generation lawyer, she has had to overcome the challenges of establishing herself in a competitive profession without a family background in law. Determined to build an independent practice, she has recently established her own office in her hometown with the guidance and support of her senior advocate.
Despite the professional and financial challenges that accompany the early years of independent practice, Ushas remains committed to providing quality legal services and strengthening access to justice within her community. She credits her parents and two brothers as her greatest source of encouragement and support throughout her journey.
While exploring opportunities to enhance her professional growth, Ushas learned about the IDIA Litigation Fellowship and its commitment to supporting young litigators dedicated to social justice. Recognising the Fellowship as an opportunity to strengthen her legal practice, receive mentorship, and continue serving her community more effectively, she applied with the hope of further developing her skills and building a sustainable career in litigation.
