Shubham Mishra, originally from Bihar, was born and brought up in Bandel, a suburb of Kolkata. Due to limited educational opportunities in Bihar, his mother insisted he live with his grandmother in Bandel, while his father, a farmer, stayed behind. Tragically, Shubham lost his mother to a respiratory disease in 2021 when he was in the 9th grade. Despite this hardship, Shubham completed his schooling up to the 10th grade in Bandel. However, due to family issues, his father decided to move him to Jodhpur to live with his aunt and continue his studies without disruption.
Shubham’s interest in law developed during his time in Jodhpur. After researching how to pursue a career in law, he learned about the National Law Universities (NLUs) and the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). With his father’s support, Shubham joined Legaledge Jodhpur for coaching.
Although initially unaware of the costs associated with NLUs, his teachers informed him about scholarships that could alleviate his financial burden. Shubham secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 122 in CLAT 2024.
A friend, who was an IDIA scholar, introduced him to IDIA, which further motivated and guided him. Today, Shubham continues to prepare for his future, driven by his passion for law and the support of those around him. In his free time, he enjoys listening to music, singing, and reading novels.
