IDIA Delhi Chapter conducted Sensitisation sessions in collaboration with East District Legal Services Authority (DLSA (East)) that were streamed on YouTube with over 8,000-10,000 views of the videos collectively. DLSA (East) is a body which under the aegis of Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) that is entrusted with the task of promoting legal awareness and literacy. Finding commonality of purpose with IDIA, the body, along with the office of Deputy Director of Education (East), decided to have a series of virtual Sensitisations with the Delhi Chapter of IDIA on the topic of “Law as a viable Career option and how IDIA can help you in exploring the field of law.” The Sensitisations took place over Cisco Webex and were attended by students of 11th and 12th standard from 84 schools in East Delhi.
The sessions were aimed at introducing the idea of becoming a lawyer to the students. The perks and benefits of a legal education were discussed with them. The careers after law were an important part of the discussion. The sessions also exhaustively talked about IDIA and the help it can provide.
Each Sensitisation was conducted by volunteers from the Sensitisation team of the Delhi Chapter, an IDIA scholar and an alumnus of NLU Delhi (an erstwhile team member of the Delhi Chapter). The team was formed to ensure that all aspects of IDIA from various stakeholders were covered – from a trainee to a scholar and from a team member to a team leader. The team especially talked about IDIA as a support system and community of scholars and members.. Along with that, a video by IDIA was also streamed (watch here).
All Sensitisations ended with Q&A sessions where the questions asked by attendees on the live chat were addressed by the speakers, following which the contact details of IDIA were shared with the attendees. The video recordings from all the three Sensitisations have been uploaded on the YouTube channel of DSLSA and collectively have over 8,000 – 10,000 views.
