Hari V is an advocate practising at the Pathanamthitta District Court. He grew up in a rural village where his parents worked as agricultural labourers, and his journey into the legal profession is shaped by lived experience, perseverance, and a belief in the role of law as a pathway to dignity and equity.
He completed his B.A. in Political Science from NSS College, Pandalam, followed by an M.A. in Political Science from Pondicherry University. He later earned his LL.B. from Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram. His academic training offered him a strong grounding in constitutional values, political systems, and legal structures, which now informs his litigation practice.
When he entered the profession, the financial challenges of sustaining early-stage litigation work and supporting his family created significant obstacles. Learning about the IDIA Fellowship during this period became a turning point. The support enabled him to continue practicing law while contributing meaningfully to the communities around him.
Hari hopes that his journey—from a financially constrained farming household to practising in court—encourages others facing similar barriers. His goal is to use his legal training to amplify the voices of those who lack access to representation or resources, and to continue working with empathy and commitment toward a more just legal system.
