Rashi Sharma

Hailing from Sangrur, Punjab, Rashi grew up in a middle-class family where her parents, with a modest combined monthly income of

₹20,000, worked hard to provide for her and her sister’s education while managing household needs. Life changed drastically in 2021 when Rashi lost her father to COVID-19.

With her mother and sister, she shifted to her maternal grandparents’ home in Bikaner, Rajasthan, where she continues to live. Despite the hardships, Rashi remained steadfast in her academic journey, securing 91% in her Class 12 examinations.

Her interest in law was first sparked in the 7th grade when a relative introduced her to the field. Inspired to “be the change,” she decided to pursue law as a career. Through research, she learned about CLAT and set her sights on clearing the exam. However, the financial strain of coaching and law school fees loomed large. In 2023, Rashi found hope when she connected with IDIA, which enrolled her as a trainee.

Her journey was not without setbacks, she could not clear CLAT in 2024 but she refused to give up. With persistence, hard work, and the constant support of her family, mentors, and IDIA, she secured admission to NUSRL, Ranchi. Rashi credits IDIA for playing a pivotal role in her success, providing not only training but also mental and emotional support during her most difficult times.

Rashi aspires to excel in her legal studies and eventually work for social change, particularly by helping children and families facing challenges similar to her own. She hopes to use law as a tool to create opportunities and uplift communities.

Beyond academics, Rashi is an avid reader, always eager to learn new things, and enjoys playing badminton and basketball. Her story is a testament to perseverance – the belief that while the path may be difficult, it is always worth it.
